Berkeley-based Pivot Bio is a leader in sustainable crop nutrition with a nitrogen-producing microbe solution that reduces reliance on chemical fertilizer and farmers’ carbon footprint.
After several years of in-field and laboratory trials, Pivot Bio had a viable and thoroughly tested product in place. The company needed to swiftly emerge from stealth and drum up media exposure in top tier and ag industry trades while going up against industry veterans who had long dominated the space.
Pivot Bio engaged BAM to launch its company out of stealth mode and garner exposure in the ag industry through media as well as awards.
We highlighted the company as the first-to-market solution to sustainable crop nutrition that is years ahead of its competition and has the opportunity to make a true environmental impact. It was also critical to position not only the company’s CEO/co-founder and lead scientist as spokespersons, but the farmers/growers themselves as our true heroes evangelizing the product. Our campaign was anchored in an integrated approach encompassing earned, owned, and paid media to reach all stakeholders, spark discourse, and extend our reach.
Throughout the first year of the campaign, BAM secured over 65 placements and features in top tier outlets such as WIRED, Forbes, Business Insider, Reuters, Bloomberg, Axios, AgFunder, Agri-View, Successful Farming, and Silicon Valley Business Journal, showcasing a diverse span of stories and audiences reached. Pivot was named to Forbes’ Top 25 Most Innovative AgTech Startups, and awarded both the Sustainability Leadership and Sustainability Product of the Year awards by the Business Intelligence Group.
