Regard is a software company developing an artificial intelligence (AI) co-pilot for physicians to help accurately diagnose medical conditions.
Regard faced an uphill battle, having few media placements or relationships before rebranding. The company was also looking to announce the rebrand and Series A funding round in a market lacking education on AI-driven clinical support. When Regard came to BAM, they had problems educating the health and tech spaces on this market category (AI-driven clinical support) and its importance and impact.
Regard needed a strong PR agency to help elevate brand awareness within the medical field to help with education, sales, attracting top talent, and fundraising support. The company had raised its Series A in the fall and was looking to announce that, as well as its rebrand from HealthTensor to Regard.
Regard’s media strategy was driven by a strong understanding of what would resonate best with health, tech, and startup funding media. This meant offering the Regard Series A and rebrand announcement as an exclusive to TechCrunch, the client’s goal publication. This enabled Regard to come out of stealth with one strong feature that included its key messaging and value proposition. The strategy following the Series A/rebrand announcement included proactive outreach to key trade publications, coupled with a series of partnership announcements, which BAM knew would resonate with Regard’s key audience.
With 36 pieces of coverage (64% of which were company features) in three months, BAM’s aggressive media approach was backed by one fundraising announcement, one partnership announcement, and regular proactive outreach. The team exceeded media relations KPIs by 113%, with over 84 million impressions in national, top-tier, trade, and local media.
