Isabel Hughes is a Senior Account Executive at BAM, where she handles all aspects of media relations, including developing PR plans, drafting press releases, compiling media lists, cultivating relationships with journalists, and conducting outreach. Her media relations expertise helps BAM land coverage for clients across various industries, including AI, climate tech, health tech, SaaS, and venture capital.
Before BAM, Isabel started her PR career as a Communications Associate at The Key PR, a San Francisco-based tech PR agency, where she specialized in long-form content and dabbled in social media copywriting. Isabel laid the foundation for a career in communications in local journalism at The Star News in Chula Vista, CA.
Fun fact:
I love reading and writing poetry. I majored in English at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with an emphasis in poetry, which helped me fine-tune my craft and gave me a deeper appreciation for contemporary and classic poets alike. One of my favorite poets is Ocean Vuong — I have the title of his book — “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” — tattooed on my arm as a reminder of the brevity and beauty of life.
Favorite trip I’ve taken:
Some of my favorite trips include my stays in Mexico City, where I’ve been able to spend weeks at a time thanks to remote work. My mom was born in CDMX, and much of my family resides in the city, so I treasure spending time there.
